Promoting Oral Health Behaviors of Adolescent Girls Using a Health Belief Model

Background: With a focus on people’s beliefs, health belief model (HBM) attempts to define and promote the performances of different population groups. The current study aimed determine effect education, based HBM, promoting oral behaviors adolescent girls in Shahrekord. Methods: This interventional was conducted female students junior high schools Shahrekord during educational year 2018-2019. Using cluster sampling method, total 80 were selected from public randomly divided into experimental control required data collected using researcher-made questionnaire before, immediately after, two months after intervention. In addition, standard checklist employed evaluate station health. training provided members group seven sessions, each lasting 50-60 minutes. SPSS 21, analyzed via paired t test, independent repeated measures analysis variance (ANOVA). Results: After intervention, mean scores perceived sensitivity, severity, benefit, barriers, self-efficacy increased significantly (f=61.12, P<0.001). Moreover, (P<0.001). Conclusion: Training HBM had an important role creating favorable attitude thus practicing students.
